Winzip

Post by ajstone »

Is there a free version of winzip or something similar available. I recently paid for a version on one machine all I get now is repeated offers and upgrade request it's doing my nut in. I want a copy for home but without the marketing.

WinRAR

You'll get the nag screen when you use it, but it's free and you can Zip stuff UP as well as extract :)

Another vote for Winrar here.

I've used WinRar for a long time, its very good, easy to use and hasn't ever given me any problems.

I use 7-zip too - it is really very good and it is open source - the way software should be imo!
