I have fitted some wall cupboards at the required height and fitted the pelmet. Before you enter the room its sunken so you can see under the cupboards. I am thinking of putting some lighting under there which will highlight it more.
Apart from cutting a ply template and painting it has anybody put something under theirs or can think of a solution to make it look more pleasing thats quick, simple and cheap.
Just hiding all the joins and screws and the fact that the underneaths are white compared to an ivory colour sides, fronts and pelmets.

End panels could work, only problem being its taking the depth down too much as the pelmet is pretty shallow already, but not discounting this idea as it would look a good match.
Acrylic would look good, probably be a pig to shape and cut, but would rather put a thin sheet over the bottom then fit lighting on that. As its thin lights.
Prices for acryclic at a quick look might make this too expensive. Unless theres a high gloss cream sheet anywhere?
But 2 things i hadn't thought of, so keep them coming.

Acrylic is easy to cut, I just use my table saw. It is worth having a look at a plastics firm like this for ideas http://www.amariplastics.com/amari/contact/
