It sounds as if it did not quite fit the description of the 'salesman'.These netbook's are the most solid type you can buy, bomb proof within reason great for throwing in your case and going away, or tough enough to give to a child and very stylish.

You have to consider that it was a reconditioned netbook not a new Acer so, if it is not the sellers responsibility it is down to whoever reconned it, not Acer.
The web site says 'No Returns' which is illegal under the distant selling regulations, so it is the seller who should be getting dragged over the coals not Acer.
