Drainer placement above dishwasher

Post by fergie86 »

I am looking to have my circular drainer installed directly above my dishwasher however with the severe lack of (non-excistence of) clearance between the appliance and the bottom of the worktop i am struggling to find a drainer to fit the bill. i was originally looking for one which was side-draining (similar to an over-flow on a sink) however having searched in vain I am now considering other options such as a stainless steel tray (similar to one that a barmaid would use) with drainage holes drilled in the side of it. any ideas or experiences on the matter would be much appreciated!

Many Regards

Have you got solid timber worktops?

I have seen drainers fit into 38mm worktops and not sticking out the bottom, the only problem you have is if it is not draining into the sink, you need an overflow type fitting sticking out the bottom which you obviously can't do.

How thick is your worktop?
