Do you mean you can't see a drive in disk management the same size as your memory card, or you can, but it has no drive letter? Did you try the camera in your rear USB ports? Finally, are you able to use USB flash drives on you computer?

No drive is visable for the camera in disk management.
Tried the rear USB drives previously as you mentioned before.
Flash drives work fine as do other plug and play plug ins.

Check the value for the USBSTOR registry key. Go to Start -> Run, then type regedit. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR Check that value for the "Start" key is 3. If you need to change the value I'd recommend backing up the registry first, using File -> Export. It may also be worth running the "Fix it for me" option here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925196 Make sure you read the warnings about some CD related software that may need to be reinstalled after running the update. Unless anyone else can come up with a fix I think it would be worth investing in a USB card reader!

Running out of ideas now!... I did a search on Google and one person had a similar problem where their scanner was causing a conflict. When they unplugged the scanner the camera was detected. You could try unplugging any non-essential USB devices and trying again. I know you had problems with the Micro SD to SD adapter in your card reader, but you can buy a native MicroSD reader from ebuyer for £1.52 + p&p.

Although I don't want the rave of unpluging and reinstalling all my USB plug ins this seems the only route to go or should I invest in a dedicated micro sd card reader first???
Other suggestions welcome, dave where are you?

Rick,
I left it with Rich doing the running, but it appears that all the suggestions are drawing a blank.

To break it down into very basic terms:
Your USB ports recognise other USB plugins.
Your camera USB lead works on another computer,
so it is either your camera or your computer that do not recognise each other.

I do not usually recommend using a drivwer scanner to check for updates, BUT if your Windows updates are upto date then try :
http://updatewindowsdrivers.com/

That should check that your USB drivers are the latest.

If that fails, then I am at a loss for suggestions at the moment.

You could take a look in Event Viewer after you plug in your camera. Click Start -> Run, type eventvwr.msc and press enter. Take a look in the Application and System logs by clicking on the log name in the left hand pane and look for any error or warning events that occurred at the time you plugged in your camera in the right hand pane. If there are any, post back the messages.

So the plot thickens............
Tried the route of MicroSD in Olympus SD adapter into card reader, simples!!!!!!!!!
Think again, you would not guess this in a month of Sundays!
Olympus SD adapter supplied with the camera, does not fit into a card reader slot, Ive got Three differant readers all marked SD, it won't fit in anu of them!
So back to Jessops and guess what, after the assistant had tried another adapter then mine in various card readers, he called for backup, the manager had come accross this problem before and thought I should get in touch with Olympus myself..........Email sent to all addresses!
If I don't get anywhere come back and I'll ring them he said!

The camera must be female as well as this bl##dy Computer, lifes a bitch then one day you marry one!

Does the adaptor look like one of these in the picture. If not, it may be worth getting a standard adaptor, like this one.
