ADSL Splitter

Post by Steveh24 »

I want to run an extension cable from my BT Master Socket to my computer room and terminate it with a RJ11 socket and plug my ADSL Modem into it, but do I need an ADSL Splitter

I'm assuming not as the splitter seperates data from voice and I'm only using data from an RJ11 Socket, but confirmation would be useful.

Just run a normal telephone extension cable / socket to wherever you want it. Plug a broad band filter into the socket and your broad band modem into the filter.

Thanks Mike, I guess doing it that way means I can plug a phone into my computer room as well as my Modem
