Best hammer drill for going through ceramic tiles
I'm looking to replace my old hammer drill that finally gave up the ghost this weekend. I am currently installing a bathroom and need a drill that can go through tiles without shattering them. I am a bit confused by the SDS plus drills (i.e. Ryobi ERH-750V 240V 3kg SDS Plus Hammer Drill from screw fix) as I have an SDS drill and the hammer action is so strong it shatters tiles. As the bathroom is all tiled and grouted I don't want to even try using this.
Would something like a Ryobi ERH-750V 240V 3kg SDS Plus Hammer Drill be ok or should I look for something else??

if you are drilling through tiles, I would certainly take hammer action off. Those drill bits speed noted are good but I have never had a problem with ordinary masonary bits on ceramic. I give it a squirt of water and let the drill bit crunch away on slow speed but if I have the multi construction ones to hand, all the better. The sharper angle head is quicker

Just a note to thank you all for your help here. I wasn't able to get the multiconstruction bits but I did use some tile bits and the hammer action off. Worked like a dream

tile bits are a must in any tool box! Always drill with tile bits then use normal masonary after. If you are slow and careful you can use a normal masonary bit on tiles but there is high chance it would crack the tile.
PS - tile bits arent much from a local hardware store.
Enjoy
