Wetroom advice

Post by gizzard »

I am installing a 1st floor wetroom (wooden floor) & am considering using Marmox. Does anyone know the difference between using a shower tray or showerstone??

Also it has been suggested that I should render the walls using Sika rather than fixing backer boards. The walls are currently bare brick. Does anyone have any advice on the better (or alternative recommended) option?

Thanks

never used Marmox. I only use Impey. looked ok though it will do the job.

Depends what you mean by showerstone. If you mean the tiles that they term 'shower stone' then you will still need to use the marmox.

not too sure about your question about a shower tray. I would go for the level entry shower tray rather than a standard raised one. After all it is a wet room.

With a raised shower tray it is tiled to and stepped up into. level entry trays such as the Marmox or Impey are as they say, level. they already have falls built into them for waste water drainage and you tile ontop of them. all you will see is the waste water outlet.

Walls can be rendered.
