I bought ipod touch's for my two kids but would like to be able to transfer dvd's and other files to the format required in order that i can then add it the itunes library and from there load it onto their ipods.
There seems to be hundreds of software applications for doing this and so i just wanted to ask what others are using and what is recommended.
Thanks!!
What software is best for converting dvd's etc for ipods

I don't have an iPod so don't use any program like that.
Instructions how to do it:

Videora iPod Converter (FREE):

Hope that gets you started.

I like the SlySoft range of products. You'll probably need to use AnyDVD http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html and CloneDVD Moblie http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd-mobile.html They're both available as 21 day free trials.

I followed the links on the "how to convert dvd to ipod" and downloaded DVD Decrypter and Videora ipod converter. Its all pretty easy and works a treat.dave.m wrote:I don't have an iPod so don't use any program like that.

I tried a couple of trial software applications and they were definately simpler to use - generally one click and away you go - really good. The trial sites only allow you to convert a short length of movie or they are embossed with "trial mode" or similar and so you really need to purchase them for around £30 - £40.
I will happily put up with just a little bit of mucking around and use the two free downloads above (its really pretty simple, just a bit more time consuming).
Excellent.......thanks!!

I think you should use Total Video Converter. It supports all most all formats. It has great features such as :
1.It supports all kinds of videos to mobile.
2.Compatibility and Eficiency for Importing.
3.Convert various videos to MPEG videos compatible
4.Burn the converted videos to DVD etc.
