RJ45 connectors
We want to run an RJ45 lead under the floorboards from one side of a room to the other. Because the RJ45 connections are easily broken I was thinking of purchasing a pack of RJ45 connectors from Screwfix to replace them when they get broken, or to use on the spare cable I have from setting up a wired home network, I just want to run a lead from the router to the computer, I don’t want to go to the hassle of extending the home network if I can avoid it. How easy is it to connect these connectors to the RJ45 leads or the home network cable?

It's more fiddly than difficult.
Get a crimp tool and follow these instructions
Use 568-B on both ends.
