O2
Decided to go back on contract, wanted a new phone too. Went to the O2 website and decided on an 8gb i-phone, 600mins, free wifi and internet at £35.00 per month. Phone was about £90.00, decided to phone O2 and said I really didn't want to pay for the phone to go back on contract. They said OK, got an i-phone free of charge!

Excellent result
I have a mobile 3g contract with three, and it is about £15 per month for 1gb of usage (it's for emergencies should the broadband ever fail). I phoned to cancel it as I was out of my contract, they offered me a new fast 3G dongle, but I still wanted to cancel it.
After 20 mins I walked away with the same £15 contract, but with a Free decent spec laptop and a 3G fast dongle.
I gave the laptop to my nephew, and the girlfriend managed to loose the dongle, so I ended up with jack schitt

I've always been with O2 back when it was called cellnet about 12 years ago and never really had a problem with them, i also have O2 broadband now which i must say is absolutely excellent, and i have only ever had to phone them once in 2 years, which was to get a security code for our wireless router and they answer the phone within a minute, so i would definitely recommend them.
I do have a vodafone contract through work and this is ok but not as good as O2

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments..

I've always been with o2 in its many names and I normally get a good deal when I come to upgrade. I'm now due for a new upgrade so rang them up to ask what they could do for a HTC HD2. They wanted £100 for the phone and then the same amount as I am paying now for call time. I said thats exactly what it is on the web site to which they replied, yes, we don't offer any extras to existing customers anymore. I've since tried the upgrade again and got the same response, even after speaking to retentions.
I've now changed my desired phone to the new HTC Desire and as o2 haven't given a date as to when they will stock it I will be off to either Orange or Vodafone

It seems many of the providers are now looking at keeping customers longterm.
Orange have done me some cracking deals the last couple of times my contract expired.
Got 1200 free cross network minutes, unlimited texts, free broadband, samsung smartphone, orange wednesday free cinema tickets and free calls to other orange special numbers for £42 plus vat per month.
3g is useless down here, cant get a signal even in town centers.
