Hi,
I'm at the very start of my bathroom and would like to have a wetroom. Just to give you an idea of where I am at: Two walls need replastering as plaster was blown, no ceiling, no suite, no door! Just bare chipboard floor and a temporary toilet.
I've been doing some research, but need some advice. The floor slopes into the centre buy about 20 - 40mm, I understand that I will need a flat floor so have considered some sort of self levelling compond for starters.
Then over that I was thinking of Schluter Kerdi all over floor and 1 - 2 metres up the walls around the shower area followed by tiles. I've seen that Schluter do a matting for the floor called Ditra that de-couples the floor tiles from the substrate, would I need this instead of Kerdi on the floor?
For the shower area I was going to get an Impey Aquadec.
Any advice or critique would be greatfully appreciated.
:)

here you go bud...
p.s that floor will need to be 100% level, imo lift it and relay with 22mm wbp ply(same thickness of your tray)..seal underside and edges with an sbr proir to fixing the wbp ply down..
kerdi/dura/homlux wall and floor matting systems mate(take your pick).
remember plaster(finish skim) will only take 20kg per m2(including addy and grout@4kg per m2)..so be carefull of the tiles you pick for weight, and prime EVERYTHING..walls/floor..

ok few questions! I've seen those videos before (more than once!), but really its the product choice and level floor that I'm struggling with.
wbp?
sbr?
Relooked at the level of the floor and is out a max of 10mm, what I said before was more a guess. I know the floor needs to be 100% flat, but its the joists that are out and my experience doesn't go as far as levelling floors, ideas on how to level the floor?
I don't really want to have to lift the floor as it wasn't long ago put in, two joists were gone when I got the property so floor was done then. Could I put 4mm ply over it to bring it to 22mm (wonders if they do 4mm ply)?
The two walls that need to be plastered aren't going to be skimmed, just render, does that have the same weight loading?
Sorry if I seem very ameture-ish, but I want to get this right the first time, oh and I am an ameture!!
