Corian
What's the experts' opinon on Corian for kitchen counter tops?
Are any problems with it? Are there any disadvantages?
How does it rank in the list of possible materials for kitchen counter tops?

I love Corian, the only disadvantage is its weight and brittleness (but if you dink a chipboard wortop whilst moving or installink, there's no difference) Oh, and aslo the cost.
The advantages are is that homogenous meaning that if you get scratches of dints, it can be sanded down and re-polished so you wouldn't know.
It comes in some great colours and finishes too.

Re: Corian
The only disadvantage to Corian is you have to have a trained installer fit it! as its not really a diy worktop system.

Being a site manager for presumably a large company gives you a better chance at being able to source it tho. I've not seen anywhere that actually just supplies this composite stuff. Plenty of glossy leaflets handed out trying to sell an fully installed tops tho.Simon Site Manager wrote:I have to say, I have worked Corian without any particular training.

and there in lies your problem CSIFMH, its virtually impossible to purchase Corian on a supply only basis. there are other alternative such as Getacore, Encore form busboard or minerelle to name a few, but actuall Corian is only done by DUPONT trained installers! So simon are you SURE it was actually 13mm CORIAN that youve fitted or one of the more diyer type solid surfaces youve fitted?
