how to cut a 3 way mitre.

dont know if its been done on here?
but anyway ere way go... :-)

tools required.. 1 mitre block and one jnr hacksaw...we ready now lads/lassies.. :-)

cut your tile trim on the 45 then stand it up and cut the 45 in half you will now have an arrow shape.
cut your second tile trim on the 45 (oppisite your first 45 cut) again stand up and cut in half you will have another arrow shape.

last cut.. you will now STAND the tile trim up in the mitre block and cut on the 45 then lie it down in the mitre block and cut the 45 in half,and you will have an arrow shape...

so now you have 3 arrows that will all butt up nicley to each other(the 3 way mitre).

practise makes perfect lads/lassies.

It would be a lot easier to understand with pictures :-)

I must admit it is something I have never done before, but I'll try it one day when I find my mitre block!

pictures boss.... :lol: i have trouble just turning this pc on and using it most off the time.... ::b

as for the b@@tard cut... :lol: :lol: ..yes it is know as this to...cos when my auld tradesman showed me how to do(just the once)..then told me once i master how its done, i can start fixing tiles...
all your heard from me for the next 2/3 weeks was me shouting..B@@TARD... :lol: :lol:..same as everyone else who tries cutting the 3 way.... :lol:

where can i purchase the corner pieces to fit in just in case the customer prefers them to a 3 way mitre

Nowhere. Trust me, i've looked everywhere, and you'll never find the right size, right colour corner details for the trim you're using. ::b Probably because all the tile stockists dont make enough money for bothering to stock such a small item. :roll:

look as a tf you have to give your cleint confidonce(sellp check again)..as for sizes and colors for 2 way or 3way??your THE TILE FIXER....

To me he is saying that if you are charging for work then you should be able to do it. Compare it to people who do coveing but can't cut the mitres and have to use bought internal/external pieces already formed.

i appreciate what you are saying but is this not what forums are for,to learn and if you have questions to ask them!!i know it is probably an easy task to do a 3 way mitre and with a little practice i am sure i will crack it

Don't worry about tittit. There's always some fool who thinks they know everything. :roll:

If you go to tileforums dot com and add on /index.php?showtopic=7337 this will show you how to cut three way mitre, in english and in coherent sentences. :wink:

as for knowing it all...i think NOT..you need to get the parent control on your computer,there nuggett!!

knowlegde is a dangoures thing(sepll check)..
yes to much knowlegde is "dangerous"...but i guess a lot of tradesmen/tradeswowan..will just have to live with THAT....
