Help with Cutting this type of tiles

Post by nias43 »

Hi to all:
First time posting here and thanks for any help:
I am about to tile a room using the following two models of tiles

http://www.presafor.com/pag_inicio.php? ... 9&pagina=1

http://www.presafor.com/pag_inicio.php? ... ubgrupo=38

Could anyone give me a few tips on how best to cut these, all but two will be straight cuts, the other two are for around a window. I dont have a powered wet saw but have various sized angle grinders and can get whatever blades may be required. Getting hold a powered wet saw is not easy and for the amount of cutting a little expensive.

Many thanks for your time and help.

My Spanish isnt up to much so dont know what material they are made from although at 20mm thick they are almost certainly some type of stone. If you're using an angle grinder, check out the Marcrist CK850 diamond blade. Try clamping them to a bench with some timber to keep them still whilst cutting and dont forget your PPE.

I think it's a sort of stone/cement mix.

A diamond blade will eat it anyway.

Thanks for your help:
The material is some sost of pressed/formed material with what looks like chips of marble. And the "Moldura A" for around the windows /doors have three rods of steel through them.
Rookery:::: Thanks for the reminder, have my goggles etc ( easy to forget when you are busy)
Have to say this forum is excellent and will no doubt use many times. Cant be much help on the diy/handyman front but can offer most things on the computer side.
Thanks again and will check back later.
By the way its raining and cold here in "SUNNY SPAIN"

To Scruff
Not far from a city called Alcoy. In the country with the worlds slowest internet conection -- hence my delay in reply.
Apart from the services here I love the place.

Just a quick thanks to all who helped me on this. Brought a decent diamond blade for my disc cutter and it worked well. Just a bugger to grout ::b
