Not seen it but I don't watch much TV.

I bet it is not 50% off ALL power tools, their sales are normally very selective.

No such thing as sales in the sheds. They creep the prices up slowly over a period of time then have 10/20 percent off sale. I noticed a regular pattern of this. The only difference being in clearance items/discontinued lines sometimes they can be very good value. But beware returns are normaly included in these. Because of their liberal returns policies some people are using them as a free tool hire shop. EG. Clean it up, take it back, get refund.
I have bought a few contract bathroom suites from one shed usualy priced around £175.00p at the time. On one visit I noticed the price of this had doubled and a few weeks later they had a 10 percent sale and guess what! Big sign. "FURTHER REDUCTION ON THIS SUITE. HALF PRICE" £175.00p

The sale applies to all types of stores, especially sofa companies and the now defunct MFI. Supermarkets are also not immune to this. Its about time the regulatory body amended the rules to stop this sharp practice.

I have to admit tho' I've had a few bargains from b'n'poo (mainly from advice from this site ). I bought a Ryobi SDS+ drill for about £40 which still retails around £80. Also recently got the Bosch PMF-180 for about £45 which is normally sells at £70-80

Was in Bandq today.

They are selling Black and Decker 18v combi drill half price. Can pick it up for just under £50.

Comes with two lithium ion batteries. Also 2 year guarantee.

Good drill for someone starting out in DIY.

Went on BandQ website. It is a different drill that they are selling from the one in store.

Phoned BandQ to explain that the drill that is being displayed in the shop is different from the one on web.

Store assistant said that the one on display in the shop shouldn't have been there. It was the wrong drill

Screwfix had a good looking Makita 18v portable hammer drill with TWO batteries at about half some price!

I noticed and still bought one but they were NiCad batteries which are pretty outdated and suffer from memory effect if recharged before they are completely discharged,

Later batts were NiMH and the latest are Li-ion with a better power to weight ratio.

They are now back on sale at £200

That drill was an absolute bargain and a few weeks later they had the site 18v drill with 3 batteries for less than £50 and the site drill is made by Makita, the batteries and charger are all interchangeable with the 18v Makita.

Oddly the spec for that one does not mention hammer action which mine does have.

The Screwfix reviews are virtually all FIVE star. One though says he got Li-ion batteries on the £80 offer. Many others noticed the NiCad batteries. Some say they are all metal gears. ( I hate to think how long plastic gears would last for! )

There is not much of a problem if you understand how to use NiCads properly but as most current batts do not suffer from memory effect many will spoil them quickly.

Just by chance I have a spare 18v NiMh battery which also fits so that I have three and can swap them round.

Does anyone know of a torch which fits those batts?

The screwfix reviews cannot be trusted, although I consider the Makita to be an excellent quality drill.
