Wrought Iron Gate question

Post by yatesie »

Hi. Thanks in advice for any help. (Sorry if it's not very clear what I'm describing.)

I have a traditional wrought iron gate. The handle is flush to the gate, with an inch or two hanging over the edge, that rises up an inch.

What I need to know is the name of the piece of metal that attaches to the gate post, that the handle slots into to keep the gate securely closed.

A 'keep' is generally what they are called.
