feva,
I don't think that you will have got a virus by pulling the plug out during a Windows update.
Is it a desktop PC or a laptop?
What operating system XP Vista or Win 7?
When you say it works slow then stops, do you mean it freezes and the screen is still lit or does the computer just shut down?
Do you get any error messages.
What exactly happened when you pulled the plug out, do you think it may have damaged the plug?

plug ok, just knocked it out by mistake and the went power off, im using xp.
i dont get any error messages
its a pc, and im using it now and it working fine just abit slower than normal, when it crashs, it freezes and wont let me do anything, and when it goes i cant switch it off it will only reset, and once ive had to that, it will load up as normal, but then wont do anything at all, it wont load up avast or super anti spy ware or virgin internet manager

Have you tried doing a system restore to a point before the last update?
