Goodevening everyone, hope you can take time off watching the World Cup to give me a bit of advice?
I need to lay some lino, & just need some pointers regarding how to go about it? Also, is it ok to lay lino ontop of existing lio? Nothing wrong with present one, just that it doesn't look nice & is not pleasing to the eye?
Thanks in advance for all help!

Re: How to lay lino?
hi mate.
when i do vinly..mainly saftey flooring,i use f ball products.
you might want to look into this stuff(best out their imo)..,you will want..styccobond 45,use a 2mm "v" notched trowel to spread wait till it goes "tacky" then lay vinly(just do the far end off the room first)..then the bottom off the room.
almost forgot....
(make this up before anything)...
get a piece of 12mm ply about 12"x8" and wrap a thick bit of carpet around the "bottom halves" off both sides,(use the styccobond to stick carpet to the ply) ..
and you will use this to run over the vinly to smooth it to the subtrate..
now the exsisting vinly i "think" you may have to clean/ prime this first mate,so you will have a good bond, but check in the website of ..f-ball if using their products..

sorry bud.. forgot to add..
when cutting vinly i use the "hooked" stanley blades,..this way imo.. you have MORE CONTROL when cutting.

Re: How to lay lino?
If the old lino isn't stuck down, you could use it as a template to cut the new piece.
You may want to leave it in the sun for a while, as it works better when warm.

its not that bad mate..might sound it,...but it aint bud...
just take your time, think it through first, then a dry run.. and you will be saying to yourself.....FECK IS THAT IT....
dont forget tho,to get ur cuts before you stick the vinly down ...just like tiling, do your cuts before fixing ...
