Tiling onto plywood board

Hi there.
I am about to carry out a bathroom tiling job having nearly completed the plumbing in my sons victorian house.
The walls were so bad, plaster wise that I have reboarded with 18 mm WBF board on 3x 2 battening. There is a shower section with the remaining wall boarded up to dado level.I am now a bit concerned as wether to tile on to the board direct or to place another borard on top of the WBP in the shower section. Anxious not to have any damp problems as my son lives 200 mles away. Any help /advice gratefully received . Some of the panels are 18 exterior grade ply and some are 18mm structural exterior pine faced ply.

I would cover it in Aquapanel. You can get it at BnQ. It is a cement based board that is a much better substrate than W&B ply for tiling in wet areas.

. That would be good news. I also have other walls outside the shower (to Dado height 10000mm) behind toilet and basin etc which are not in "wet areas " as such could you recommend any treatment to the se wall pre-tiling?

i wouldnt advice wbp on walls in a wet area or even any walls for tiling mate,there are a lot better materials out there for your job..as been said

12.5mm cement based boards..hardie/wedi/aqauapanel etc..

or 12.5mm m.r. plasterboard and tank the wet area out with a wall tanking membrane..kerdi/dura/homelux wall matting.

anyone of the above will last a lot longer than the wbp ply route mate.
