Virus.... BTopenzone/ BTFon???

I'm not sure if my computer has a virus... I turned the computer and tried to open internet explorer, the home page (usually set to Google) came up as BTFon and whatever I did I could change it!

I tried everything I knew (which isn't much!!) and nothing helped. I tried turning it off and on again. Eventually, I decided to look at the Wireness Netwoek connections and realised that somehow my computer had connected to BTFon. This appears to be an unsecured wireness network, as does BTOpenzone. These didn't used to appear on the list and I've got no idea where they came from.

I've managed to set my wireness network as the default. But so far everytime I re-start the computer it defaults to the BTFon site. I've run a virus check but nothing has come up. Is this a virus?

Does anyone know what I should do?

The latest BT wireless routers have an open network that can be accessed by other BT customers.

Have you or someone else ever connected to another network? It seems your computer has saved the settings and is automatically connecting as it doesn't have to negotiate a seured password.

I've never connected to another network, but my boyfriend was testing the connection on his new mobile yesterday... and I wonder if it's anything to do with that?! I have no idea!!

windows will tend to pick up the strongest signal all whats happend is its defaulted to the bt fon connection. its an easy fix

left click on the bar graph icon in the taskbar (beside the clock) this will show you the connections find the one your connected to and click disconnect.

now click on your network connection and tick the box "connect automatically", then click connect at this point it may ask for a key/paraphrase

it should now connect to that network every time, if not post back as theres other ways todo it.
