Hi,
I have a small kitchen with a breakfast bar on one side (40cm deep) and would like to put some storage beneath it. All base units I've seen seem to be around 60cm which is too deep. I do currently have an old wall unit under the bar which is the right depth, and I could presumably put some feet on it, however I really need some drawers somewhere (I'm lacking drawers for cutlery etc). It did occur to me that it might be possible to add drawers to the top of the cupboards, so that the drawers would be directly below the work surface, then the cupboards. It seems my options are:
1) get a new base unit with drawers and cupboards, which is less than 40 cm deep. I can't seem to find anything from my search online - does anyone know of anything?
2) If it's possible, to buy drawer fittings/parts to attach drawers on top of the cupboards. I don't know if it's possible to buy these sort of parts...
3) Just buy some cutlery trays and stick them on top of the cupboard. It would work and would be easy, but isn't a very nice solution
Any ideas? Thanks
Laura

Re: shallow base unit
i have not seen shallow draws before, if you are planning a new kitchen as the other topic, stick with wall units under there and add a few draw banks in the std units,
