Havent got a clue about this...
Ive just recently been bought an X box and want to join the throng of lads at work on call of duty online...
so the xbox hasnt got wifi so I have to buy a dongle thing but is the port on my netbook an outy as well as an inny? as in can I tell the netbook to send its wireless signal out the network port to the xbox?
This is probably a really stupid question and I apologise in advance but you never know...

network port on netbook in reverse
All my advice should be taken with a rather large pinch of salt, all the gear, absolutely no idea whatsoever ;)

Re: network port on netbook in reverse
IIRC you can connect an XBox straight to a router using the appropriate CAT cable
Don't take it personally......

Re: network port on netbook in reverse
yeh i know but the routers a good 30 metres of cable away or a lot of drilling and messing about...
can you buy the cable and just put the ends on? not that I know how to put the ends on?
ive got a little blue cable but its only about a metre....
thats what i was hoping to use to connect the lappy to the xbox...
just a thought on a whim really...
just thought that i might be able to set the lappy up like some sort of router?

If you have a wireless laptop you should be able to connect to the router, if not get 3g card that slots in.

You can connect your Xbox to the internet via your laptop using Internet Connection Sharing, which is part of Windows. I don't know which version of Windows you're using, but take a look at these instructions http://www.dailydigitals.com/manualpdf/ ... aring.html
