I Messed up

I put floor tiles down a while ago and decided to do it again in a shed nwith a concrete floor, so i went to homebase asked the chap for the tiles for floor and the Tile Cement, then i realised i had messed up.

i started off great but when it came to cutting them i was ok for two then it went pear shaped, everytime i tried to cut it it would break, i got so fed up i decided to make a mosaic effort of all the bits, then i didnt have enough Tile Cement so i had to leave one tile out


on hindside i have just realised that the floor should have been levelled as it has a few high bits which i didnt realise,and i now think the Tile stuff he gave me is only for grout and not for laying tiles oh godddddddddddd this is the product he gave me in picture.

Can you recommend a grout that i can use as i havent grouted tiles yet ?
have i ruined it only good thing is i will have a freezer over it and a press so there wont be much floor showing aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
bit afraid the tiles will not stick or come loose thanks

O dear o dear o dear, you may as well start again, the bond wont last if thats a ready mixed grout youve used t stick em down, the plus side is they should come up easy enough....

How big is the floor ?

The reason your tiles are breaking is because you are no doubt using a £10 tile cutter that is about a much use a chocolate tea pot.

I get job all the time where people have tried and failed and laying a floor .... normally there is the offending homebase tile cutter chucked in the corner with a heap of smashed tiles next to it ! lol

If I were you I get them up and scrape off the decent tiles, don't muck about with brokes tiles as these will have very very sharp edges on them and will be dangerous, go and buy another pack of tiles.

Go to a proper tile place and ask them for powdered adhesive to tile a concrete floor and also a bag of powdered grout and mix up the gear in a bucket yourself.

Might be worth posting some pics up so can advise you on your starting point.

Any high spots on the floor you can just grind them away.

and how do i cut them ?

what are the tiles made from Ceramic or Porc? any hoo if you have access to an angle grinder thatl cut em with a diamond tipped blade! or a cheap wet wheel cutter you can get them for about £30 quid.

Its called a wet cutter, this will be fine for you.

Dry cutters are good if you have tons of straight cuts to do but you really cant cheap out on them, my ones cost over £270 to get .... but you get what you pay for ! , never let me down and its very rare that a tile shatters.

That will do the job - I've had one of them last me a good few years.
The only down side - there is no way on this earth you will get the water tray out without chucking it all over the floor!!
