Laptop fired up ok but.......

Post by steve higgins »

Hi all I am back about 3 months ago I mentioned on here that I spilt lager on my old lap top and was getting messages like not seeing media device cable unpugged and insert boot up disk and press any key.Well since then my wife tried turning it on and it fired up ok but turned off to take downstairs and would not fire up again. Then when we were on holiday in May daughter visitted our house and for some reason turned on the laptop and it again fired up ok and used it on the web.But then would not work again.Yesterday daughter rang up and asked if her hubby could have laptop as he knew someone who maybe able to fix it.I said ok went upstairs retrieved laptop and tried to turn on but battery was flat so took downstairs plugged into power and broadband hey it fired up ok so decided to remove some things like Norton 360 etc .. restarted laptop several time successfully ok but when I went to turn off there were 21 updates so I shut down completely. And now again after tring numerous times will not boot up.Hey I am totally confused any ideas from you experts.Cheers Steve

Because of the problem with the spilt lager, the situation could be traces of sugar on the electrical connections on the motherboard.

It is not a specific hardware or software problem that can be sorted by changing, say, the CPU or uninstalling a corrupt program.

As it is impossible to state what the exact trouble is without seeing it and having a close inspection, I would allow your daughter's husband to get it looked at. It is as much use as a chocolate fire guard at the moment with never knowing whether it will boot up or not so get it looked at.
