There was a little water damage to my carpet in the living room from minor flooding. Can I use a Shop Vac and a fan to remove all possible water? I'm thinking that I need to pull the carpet and dry the padding. I'm trying to avoid this. Any suggestions?

flood stains
hi what your doing is fine dry the carpet but you will probably have to take out the wet square of underlay and throw it as it will make the rubber eventualy perrish or go crusty.you can dry it but it would only cost a few quid for a small piece of underlay.id suggest going to a carpetright or allieds before 9am and just buy a square off one of the fitters.if worried they would also re fit for £30 ( usual min charge of all the retailers). If you have staining try a solvent and dab it onto the stain and then draw back out with some kitchen roll.Hope this helps
