Scruff, there all back now after all the on and off I did, but its the CD its stuck, and I dont want to mess around with it, incase it messes up the screen/PC again, so I will have to leave it in, but am concerned as even though the PC will be switched off, that the stuck CD is still stuck for the 2 weeks I am away.
So, if you dont hear from me when I come back, its cause I have broken the PC lol

Bobbie there is often a tiny "hole" next to the eject button..a paper clip wiggled in there should open the CD Tray.

You can press a key on the keyboard to release the disc, but don't know which one, hopefully Dave will see this post and tell you.

The problem is that I have a dell studio hybrid, and there is no actual button, but like a touch sensor thingy, that is a nightmare, but as it happens the disc has come out now :-), but I really need to find out why its happening, and try to avoid it happening again, as i am scared to insert any CDS now.
I did a bit of research, and apparently there has been loads of complaints about the disc getting stuck.

Will be interested to know what keys to press for next time, as really this cant go on !!!!!

Right click on the screen and see if you have an eject disc option.

Obviously you need a disc in to test.

As thescruff says, right-click on your CD drive in My Computer and choose eject. Is your machine is under warranty with Dell? It sounds like your CD drive is on the way out, if not already broken!
