Youtube uses Adobe Flash, so you could make sure you have the latest version by going here http://www.adobe.com/ and following the "Get Adobe Flash Player" link

What browser are you using? Also, you say it sometimes freezes, can you watch some videos without any problem?

If you are using Vista or Windows 7, 1024MB (1GB) ram isn't really enough, and you would be better upgrading to at least 2GB, especially if you don't have a graphics card, and your main memory is being using for video memory. 1GB is ample for Windows XP. It could also be slowed down by a lot of applications running. These could be using memory and/or cpu which could cause the video staggering. There is a similiar post about speeding a PC up, or you could try a "clean boot" Here is how to do a clean boot.

XP

1)Start, run, then type "msconfig" (without quotes) in the run box and hit enter
2) On the services tab, tick the box to "hide all Microsoft services", then disable everything else
3) On the startup tab, disable everything

Vista /Windows 7
(As xp except step 1)

1)Click the round button at the bottom left (not labelled start) and type "msconfig" (without quotes) in the empty (search) box, and hit enter

Check to see if this helps. Note that some of these items you have disabled may cause some other programmes to stop working, especially antivirus programmes, so it is recommended to go back to the MSCONFIG utility and re-enable those items that you think you need.
