Drawer dampers

Post by longrob604 »

Greetings

I'm looking for dampers suitable for use with existing kitchen drawers.

From looking at a kitchen showroom I think there are dampers which are separate from the runners, such as these
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30124693
and then there are special runners with the dampers built in.

Does anyone have experience of using either of these ? Are there limitations in terms of space or size for fitting the separate ones ? Does anyone know of other brands/sources ? I have heard that B&Q and Wickes may sell them, though I haven't looked yet.
Does anyone know where the runners with integrated dampers can be bought ?

I've also seen some drawers with a self-close mechanism that is activated only when the drawer is left open a little way, which together with the damping mechanism seemed very nice indeed. Anyone have more info about this ?

Thanks
