PaleMoon Browser

Post by dave.m »

I've been using the Pale Moon Browser for a couple of weeks now, and it is like F1 racing compared to IE8 and even Firefox 3.6

You can download it from:
http://www.palemoon.org/

It looks just like Firefox, so if you use Firefox, you will feel at home but get where you are going a lot faster.
It offers to import from IE but if you are a regular Firefox user, click to NOT import.
It then offers a small download tool to import your full Firefox profile with your Bookmarks etc. Download and run the program.
It will then open up as if it was your Firefox Homepage with all your bookmarks, passwords etc.

Firefox is NOT effected by the profile import and will still run as normal.

Nice one Dave :thumbleft:

Been looking for a faster browser for a while. I note (gleefully) that the download is only 7.9Mb putting the other browsers to shame.
Don't take it personally......

Hi Dave

As a fan of Firefox I thought I'd give this a go. I didn't get offered to download any tool to import my Firefox profile, so I currently have the bare browser without all my add-ons, Bookmarks etc. How do I get this download?

Rich,
Lower down on the page I linked to is the Migration Tool link:

http://www.palemoon.org/migrationtool.shtml

That will just copy your full Firefox profile across to Pale Moon.

Enjoy

Permission denied.

I'm running a domain here connected to SBS 2008. Need to have a play around. The browser does seem faster though.
