No 2 daughter arrives this morning to drop dog off and take wifey to work.

"Daaaad Dearest, I've only got one wiper working" can you have a look, drives off in my Jag leaves her 04 Vectra to me.

Puts on waterproofs and wellies, has a look, linkage for passenger side dropped off, manages to clip it back in but drops off again, manages to get a tyrap around both arms to hold it together, seems to be holding.

Could'nt get the plastic scuttle or wiper arms off, so will have to find two pronged pullers to pull them off.

The two pronged pullers are those I made as part of my apprenticeship in the '60's, knew they'd come in handy someday.


Oh how I wish she'd take all her stuff out of my double garage so I get the car in to work on it.

This is a common fault on Vectras and you need to replace the whole wiper unit. http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7989

Thanks DWD, Just read the link and one person did the same fix as me and was still going 60k later.

Read a lot of the threads and it seems a known problem pity her car is six years old and well out of warranty.

Have looked on fleabay and there is an upgraded version of the linkage arms available.
