Hi Guys
Has anyone fitted one of these before .. actually installing in the cab is no probs .. The venting , now theres a prob . The hood has to be mounted in an Island unit .
We have a blank canvass so to speak .. no slab as yet so underground venting is ideal . Are there any special kits to do this or do I just use normal flat venting ?
Are there any building regs that require thoughts or is it straightforward?
any help would be gratefully received here.
regards
phill

Re: Down draft hood
fitted a few but not in an island. have to put the ducting in to the shortest possible route with at least 150mm dia.
what model are you fitting?
some models will only pull 3m . the last one was a gaggenau huge thing, it took up a 1000base unit with the motor and ducting baffel . but you could dry your hair with it, very powerful.

Re: Down draft hood
Hi Dave.
Thanks for link .. it pretty much says what I expected it to , so that is good. I did think common sense will prevail here lol but then building regs sometimes turns that over.
Prem it looks like it is gonna be a Caple hood .. not a big fan of this make myself but the customer has sourced it . seems to be about the cheapest on the market (which says it all really). I am gonna try and convince him to go with a remote unit setup .. cost is over £2000 tho but does what it says on tin .
Life is most certainly a learning curve.
