Holy skirting boards!

Post by nigmyk »

I have had to remove some old sockets from the skirting board of a georgian house. The skirting is 12" high and not feasible to replace it (too beautiful anyway) What is the best way to fill the holes for someone who is an "average" carpenter. Thanks

well ive seen some people just pin little squares of ply over them and paint them. off course this isnt brilliant but how far do you want to go?
normally these squares arnt very neatly cut making fitting them with filler pieces very hard.
personally i would foam them up. let it set. pull out some of the dry foam and apply a good filler in 2 or 3 coats. then sand it flat.
tim'll fix it
