BOSCH SERVICE

Post by panlid »

phoned bosch last wednesday regarding my 24v combi drill. the 3 year warranty runs out in novemeber this year. the motor had burnt out (ahem  ) the gear selector on top was stuck on the top gear which wasnt a problem as i mostly use that one. motor burnt out as i was trying to stick in some 6" frame fixings on high torque.
i put it in a box and a courier picked it up on thursday. i have 5 24v batteries but one had totally died but they are not normally covered by extended warranties i think but i though i would sling it in anyway in hope.
just been returned today with a brand new motor and a brand new battery.
cant tell you how impressed i am with there service and this online free extended warranty has really saved me some money.
enough to say that i will definatly looking towards bosch for any future purchases.

Many Moons ago, I sent a couple of non pro tools back for fixing. They were both out of warranty so I was expecting a bill for the repair. The scraper thing had died completely and the drill had a broken hammer/normal selector and the button that locked the keyless chuck didn't work too well.

I was told to expect them back in a particular time frame ( I can't remember the precise detail ).

That time came & went and I allowed a bit more for leeway, parts etc.

Eventually, I contacted them and asked about the tools and they apologised profusely and explained that they were going through a workshop move ( I think ).

Shortly after, the tools turned up. The repairs, which included a replacement chuck on top of the other things were free as a gesture of good will.

So, yes the repairs did take longer than promised, but many other companies unlike Bosch would still have charged for the repairs.

I have lots of Bosch blue tools and have never had to use the warranty yet. Bosch get the thumbs up from me because of their build quality, but knowing this about the warranty is very reassuring :thumbright:

Being in the know, all (well nearly all, only really cheap ones arn't) products returned to Bosch are stripped and checked to determine the fault. These are then all logged.

Bosch sell what they call E-sales, these are products returned almost new, these have been bench checked and corrected (if needed) by someone who only does that.

So in effect each one is expertly hand built - better than a production line produced new one. These are then sold at greatly reduced prices (with a years guarante !)

If it isnt broke dont bloody touch it until it bloody well is and if it is broke then make drawing of the connections before you remove the broken one and replace with a new one LoL
