NOW! That‘s What I Call Software. 2.

All these software programs are FREE to use, not time limited.
Most require manual updates of virus databases etc before running scans.

FIREWALLS

REMEMBER that you can have a software Firewall on the computer and a hardware firewall on a router but NOT two firewalls on a computer.

After installing one of the following Firewalls, check with the Security Centre (Start -> Control
Panel -> Security Centre -> Windows Firewall) that the Windows Firewall is OFF. Some installations will turn it off automatically but some do not, SO CHECK!

Ashampoo Firewall

Comodo Firewall Use the red button for the free version.

Note! Comodo Firewall is now part of Comodo Internet Security Suite = Comodo AntiVirus + Comodo Firewall, but you can install just the firewall if you use a different AntiVirus.

ANTI-SPYWARE, ANTI-MALWARE

NOTE! Most Free versions of AntiSpyware software do not provide ‘real-time’ cover. They are ideal for weekly scans and removal of infections, but do not prevent your computer getting infected.

WinPatrol, Windows Defender, Spyware Terminator and Spyware Blaster are real-time system protectors. Also Spybot Search & destroy has the ‘Tea-timer’ as real-time protection.

You can have more than one installed but only one running.

Note! BitDefender does not provide real-time protection.

Does Inkscape run on modern Windows, such as Vista and Win7?

We provide binary packages for Linux, Windows 2000/2003/XP

software request
what do you recommend for Jr's computer to limit time online?
he's supposed to be limited to a daily limit internet time which he regularly goes over but last night he was still talking to his friend at 11pm after he was told to turn off at 10.
I need something that will limit his access times
i love being married
it's great to find that one special person that you want to annoy for the rest of your life

I have a soft spot for the wife, it's a peat bog just outside Ardross

Hard wire it into a timer, then tell him it goes off at 10 or whenever, and to make sure he's saved or loose it.

VI,

Using a timer to shutdown the computer on a daily basis is not a good idea.

Have a look at this:

Internet Lock 5.3 at $30 it may suit your needs and you can download it from the linked site.

Dave, I found Dead link removed by Admin 25/01/2021 which I am giving a trial, it barks when he tries to go onto a site he's not supposed to, it also restricts the hours the internet is avalable
