stainlass steel splashback

hi all

i'm going to be fitting a stainlass steel splashback how do i fix it and i be tiling at the same time
i was thinking about using a bed of tiling adhesive to fix the stainlass steel cos then the tiles and stainlass steel will all be nice and flat.

i'm i right in doing it this way or is they another method of doing it

No more nails, gripfill, or similar will be good enough to stick the splashback. I wouldn't reccomend the tile adhesive though.

I'm with Joinerjohn on that one, at work we use panel adhesive for S/S splashbacks

if its got a mdf backing then gripfill all the way but if its just a sheet of SS then i use the heatproof silicone!

speaking of gripfill etc. the builders merchants i go to only sell pink grip. this stuff only seems to work of you stick whatevers to be stuck onto the wall then pull it off and re atach it.

so as it comes out the tube its not that good. it needs sorta agitating a bit.

hit the wrong button there! anyway was going to say thats how they all work splodge the wall then stick whatever up and remove quickly then re stick!

hav u tried that with pinkgrip tho? it doesnt work as good. perhaps i shuda explained it different.

Do you actually have the splashback yet ?

The ones we mostly fit have a flange at the top and bottom with a hole in each corner for fixing to the wall with screws. The top one is then hidden by the cooker hood, if your worktop runs under the splashback (no range cooker) just tuck the bottom flange behind the back of the worktop and just fix the top. This must be done before the hood is fitted.
