If any of you move stuff about between a smart/iphone or different computers then dropbox is just for you.It allows you access files between devices super quick.for example i can just drop a file into a folder on my pc and i can see it instantly on my iphone. If you make it your default folder for your documents you have a reliable backup if the pc dies.Loads of ways to use it if you look about. You can even use it to start downloads on a pc back home.
It is good and has a lot of uses.If you use firefox for example you can use all the same settings on your pc on your phone too via dropbox. You can even share stuff with others via it.
Put simply it just works,no frills it just works.
More uses can be found here
You can download it here.

Totally agree - Dropbox is brilliant - use it between by desktop, laptop and iphone, and so quick too. Can check invoices, quotes, specs etc from anywhere. And it's free if you only need 2Gb of space.

Re: Free online back up or file transfer
yea. dropbox can be really helpful.
but do you happen to know another alternative for filesharing?
i'm studying in france currently and would really like to acces my 2TB server who is part of my workgroup network. so i was wondering if u know anything else. i thought it would work with teamviewier. but all i can do is copying the files which means: waiting 4 hours for a 350mb avi.
its way too annoying.
