The tale of the paving slab door step

Post by Bludall »

A few years ago we bought a Parson Russell dog puppy.
He was keen to venture out via the cat flap but getting back in was getting to be a sore point. Every time that he managed to get back in he rubbed his crown jewels on the base of the cat flap and they were getting sore. Poor little chap.
Being a kind owner, I put one paving slab under the exterior cat flap side to help him to get in more easily.
The next day we were all off to B & Q and I literally put one foot on the step and went down like I'd been pole axed. My ankle had been dislocated, foot facing one way ankle the other and I broke my ankle badly. I'm now bionic as I have a piece of Meccano and 6 screws in one side of my ankle and 2 screws in the other side. I know because I had an epidural and watched the operation. The theatre drills and tools were very smart!

Ouch :cb

That sounds very painful !

Do you set off the alarm when you go through the metal detectors at the airport?

Amazingly enough the ankle just ached alot but having given birth without pain relief to a 10lb baby that was a worse pain. I've never been through an airport metal detector, so I don't know if I'll beep. We tried the kids' metal detector on my ankle and the pitch changed slightly. I was warned not to go through an MRI scanner because my metal bits will heat up!
I was also told that I could have the metal removed but the thought of being on crutches again whilst it heals put me off. The nurses suggested that I made a claim for the accident but I couldn't really take myself to the cleaners!
