BIG THANKS all for the advice :thumbright:

Bought Bosch gbh4 from well know Uk supplier, don't wish to advertise too much but they supplied to Dad's house in Uk well within 24hrs of ordering here in Italy by internet. So thumbs up to Sc.F.

How does europe work ? Italy price of Bosch GBH4 = ScF. price including blue bosch 14.4 two battery drill driver and the cost of easy jet return flights to gatwick/milan !!. Basically short holiday and drill driver free.

As having bought two wrecks of houses to restore was not enough i decided to try and rent/ open a shop over here, this has just involved " removing a few tiles and a brick wall" as the owner said. first use of new drill, wish i'd bought one years ago. removing tiles is remarkably controllable and yet also well capable of vibrating a wall down. always previously assumed that these drills were uncontrollable beasts but infact are remarkably easy to use, more a case of vibration than outright punching power.
So now only two houses to sort out.

a few questions now,
when using chisels is it Ok to use sideways pressure or not ?

When chisel gets stuck in too far what is the best way to get it out again? I just left first chisel in wall and dug out with another chisel, any guidance appreciated on best methods etc.

thanks again all

steve
