Looks like they may have passed the order on.

Check you have a refund from the original order then pay the new invoice, or email westmoorland and ask.

Received my copy, also from Westmorland Books with a remittance stating the same £3.42.

Doesn't it mean payment not invoice?
If at first you don't succeed - remove all evidence that you tried.

It depends what it says, whether payment is due or not. :thumbright:

Obviously someone will want paying but is it the original seller or the new one.

Hi there,

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but...........

The book 'DIY Doctor' by DK is a short version of the DK book 'DIY Know How with Show How'. So, if you do get the book, its just a little 112 pager which covers the simpler 'problem solving' aspects of DIY. Don't get me wrong, its fine, but its just 400 + pages shorter than the original book!

As far as I Know, there was never any problem with the name and trademark situation with the DIY Doctor site, and the reason its going cheap is because it was only originally £9.99 I think, and in this day and age, publishers only dream of getting the full rrp. so the £2ish option is pretty normal.

The good news is.......if you want the full 550ish (£25rrp) page book its always on amazon for about £15 or even better, if you pop down to Smiths its on for about £6ish I think. Rather than having the white cover with the big red letters the smiths version is all red - but trust me its the same book.

Anyway, hope this helps, and I'm sorry to hear about all your problems getting the £2 book.

Best

Julian

Julian, :welcomeuhm: and thank you for the update on this saga.

When I received my copy from Westmorland Books, I did think it was a bit steep at £25 if that was the full asking price for what they sent me. I don't mind the shortened version at a couple of quid, it may come in handy.

Stick around, you could be a very handy person to have on these forums.

Hi Julian,

:welcomeuhm:

Thanks for clearing this up!

It's all my fault

I read this on the DIY doctor blog and thought it was the same book (not that I go on DIY doctor , I think I was checking out your "know how with show how" book at the time and landed there) http://tinyurl.com/6crvke6

DK were kind enough to give us a few copies as competition prizes in the past and all winners were more than happy with the books.

Funnily enough I actually had time to sit down and read a bit of your book last night :thumbright:
