Hello~
I'm making a door on stud partition wall.
I've already made a space for the door. Please have a look an attached image.
Red is the door lintel
The blue area is where I want to fill.
How can I fill the space and how to fix the door lintel? I'm intending to fill the space with timber because I think timber is easy to fix door lintel as well.
on right hand side smaller space than left, just same size as top lintel left..(I hope it makes sense.. ) but left space is about 120mm - 130mm and top space is about 80mm - 100mm
What is the best way to fill the space and to fix the door lintel onto the space filled..?
ah~ the door will be stand on just floor board but unfortunately there's no joist..
Many thanks

It is a lot easier if you cut out the opening to the correct size for the door frame!
You can use timber to pack it out, use the same thickness timber that has been used to build the partition. You might have to cut some timber to the correct thickness!
You can screw or nail the pieces onto the existing studs until you have a hole small enough for the door lining to fit into, then fix the lining.
