Replacing external hanging tiles

Dear Everyone, as you can see in the attached photo I have some tiles that need replacing. If anyone could offer some advise I would be very grateful. The tiles themselves are secured by 2 small nails, which are behind the tile directly above - very difficult to access.

Have you tried getting the plumber/gas fitter back to finish off the job properly??? that would be my first port of call.

Not an expert on this but the problem is that these tiles have nibs on the backs as well as being nailed on to the battens. This means that you cannot break the tile out using a nail ripper like you can to remove slates. I think the only way is to work down from the top row in a vee shape to give you the spread you need. This way you can properly attach the tiles back on. A lot of tiles to remove.

Make sure you have a good supply of tiles to cover breakages.

I would use lead strips (tingles) nailed to the batten above in the gaps between the tiles and hooked over the bottom edge of the bottom row to secure them
