Hi, I am new to the forum and in the middle of fitting new kitchen units. I have a question about fitting 'spacers' at each end of the run of units. I obviously have to cut them to the right width, then screw to the end unit. Would it be a good idea to fix a baton to the wall to give rigidity? The other thing is the best way to cut the spacers. They are finished in the same way as the door fronts, nice and shiny. Hand saw, stanley knife first, table saw or router? Which would do the best job? Oh, one more thing - I don't ask for much, one end unit is not a close fit to the wall, 'cos the wall is not vertical. Any suggestions for how I can hide the offending gap?
Any ideas gratefully received!

Re: Spacers in Magnet kitchen
Hi they are called filling strips not spacers. If they are only narrow strips you dont really need a batten on the wall just screw through cupboard. A sharp plenty of teeth hand saw should be fine to cut. Saw at an angle then you can just plane down the edge if needed. There is a clip on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iI_NZ94qfQ to show you an easy way to do it.

Re: Spacers in Magnet kitchen
been away for a few days. Have taken your advice and got a fancy three edge saw, that says it can cut melamine. Tested it on a bit first and it cut like a dream, edges great. I just sanded the edge gently to finish. Thanks for the advice.
