Rubber Dalsouple tiles onto chipboard bathroom floor.

Hi all,

I'm about to rip up my 500mm x 500mm Dalsouple tiles from the bathroom floor which I badly installed some years ago directly onto the chipboard.

To reapply them, what kind of ply should I use between the tiles and the chipboard? Is 6mm hardwood plywood acceptable? Or is it really necessary to get the WBP stuff?

Also, how should I stick it to the chipboard? No More Nails and galvanised screws perhaps?

And is it necessary to leave a gap around the perimeter for movement and then fill the space with self-levelling compound?

I have laid a few of these, always supplied by the client and always as coincidence would have it, purchased from the rubber flooring company.

never had your problem as i have always had ply floors or concrete to stick them to. Mapei do an adhesive, by the way.

Rumour has it that you can't lay them onto chipboard and 6mm ply is recommended.

However, rumour control could well be wrong as your floor has been down for years.

Check with supplier and see what they stipulate.
