Wood carvings sunnyhurst woods Darwen
I know that I have not done this carving myself, but I thought I'd share the pictures of some wood carving from one of the local wooded areas in Darwen. Eddies totem pole has inspired a few people totem-pole-work-in-progress-t42877.html so I thought the pics might be of interest

The frog carving looks somewhat suggestive. Is it some sort of fertility symbol for the local lasses?

UHM, do you happen to know what wood was used?
It looks very stable, and almost plastic.
It's also good to note that no vandalism has occurred. I couldn't see that happening around here.

Wood carvings sunnyhurst woods Darwen
After visiting Ffwrwm Caerleon and Goytre Wharf at the weekend, I need to get my act together.
The dragon/love spoon was approx 40' long and carved from one piece of timber!!

Those are fantastic, oh to have not just the skill to do those but the imagination. I particularly liked the head with the hedge as hair and the chairs.
Cheers, John
