Cooker chimney hole too big
I have just put a new cooker hook and cooker! into my kitchen. The positioning of the hole had to be adjusted slightly - by about 2cm. Now that the square section surround is up the original hole can still just be seen. I don't like this, but don't want to fill the excess hole as that could still be visible. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a stainless steel surround, like a flange that can just be dropped into the top of the chimney, such that it is flat against the ceiling and hides the hole? I can't find anything on the web, but there must be something somewhere.

If you make what you want out of a piece of cardboard then there will be places around that will manufacture what you want and a surprisingly low price. Friend of mine had a stainless steel shelf made for his water feature - involved a few bends, curve lip etc. Whole thing done for about £20.
Sounds to me as though you want a piece of steel with either a C or and O section cut out which can be glued to the ceiling and the chimney pushed up to meet it?

Re: Cooker chimney hole too big
sounds like an idea. I want three sides of a square with a 90 degree outward bend in the middle. So basically a stainless strip, with triangles cut out to allow two folds. Any idea of the names of such companies that your friend used?

If you google metal fabricators you'll be on the road to finding someone who will make exactly what you want.
My friend live near me in South Manchester and I think he said the place was in Stockport. If this is anywhere near you then let me know and I'll see if he can give me the company he used.

Look up sheet metal workers in your area who will be able to make exactly what you need but be aware the price of stainless steel just now is mega.
