Problem with Yahoo! mail

Post by wine~o »

This morning Yahoo! mail has been running slowly, messages taking a while to load, and I keep getting a pop-up message...despite clicking "YES" to stop running the script, the message keeps re-appearing..

I tried running Mbam, but that has not helped.

Any Ideas?? :?

Sounds like a problem at their end. Try with a different browser, like Firefox and see if you get the same issue.

I think they have changed their email system. It might help if you clear your cache:

go to tools, internet options, on the delete tab, and delete temporary internet files and cookies (perhaps an old script has been cached.)

They had some problems a few days ago and perhaps are still having some

Wine~o,
Just got this email today but my Yahoo Mail account is based in Canada:

" Dear Dave ******,
Thank you for being a Yahoo! Mail user for the past 5 year(s). We look forward to bringing you an even faster, safer, easier-to-use Yahoo! Mail very soon.
In the coming months, we will ask you to upgrade to the newest version of Yahoo! Mail for your account"

Looks like it is a Beta Version on release over the Pond at the moment:

Not sure if the change is happening here at the same time.

I set mine up five years ago whilst in Canada to buy something online from an outfit that would not accept @googlemail.com which is what we had before gmail.
It was easier to use that than try to use a UK Plusnet email address to get stuff delivered to an address in Canada.

Never closed it but no one knows the address so I never get emails on it :cb :cb except from Yahoo about every two years.

I use Yahoo for my main email and have done for years. I have noticed the last week of so I will try and delete stuff and I will get a pop up saying I need to change my account settings but I just hit F5 and it works fine then.

I just find Yahoo easy for checking email wherever I am

Perhaps if one uses it enough they get used to trying to navigate around it.

If there's a way to turn all the cr@p off do let me know.

I wonder what an ad blocker would do to it

Might try that next time I'm over there.

Either Adblock Plus or Host Files keeps mine clear of ads, just had a look.

I hate that bit about 'See updates from friends and family.'

It is like that F/book or Twit. I don't give a toss what they are doing right now, and I certainly ain't telling everyone on the web what I am doing at the moment. ::b ::b

Hi,

Bit late to the thread, but are you using the new Yahoo mail beta? If so I upgraded mine to try it out but had the same problems hanging and crashing the browser and so on. Finally had enough and went back to the classic version which works really well.

To go back I clicked help which produced a pull down menu and then selected "Return to original mail"

Hope this helps.
