CAD software

Post by Dickie »

Can anyone please help; I'm looking for free small CAD program I can download, it's just for doing a wee sketch or drawing showing pipework layouts or wiring. I'm a Plumber & I don't want the 'full monty' CAD setup.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Dickie,

I found these on the internet but I am not sure how good they are so you might want to be careful .....

Scruff, are you talking about Dickie or me?

I use 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks but as to whether I can actually use them you best ask my colleagues!!

Can you animate it so the washing seems to be spinning.

Not only can I make it spin but I can have it slowly build itself (I leave out the nuts/bolts/washers to save memory and time!!)

Clever ain't it :thumbright:

There's a German engine that does that, even down to the bolts screwing in.

The vid is on here somewhere.

It is clever when you see it build itself or show clashes or problems with engineers building it.

It's a shame really as we use it for a sales tool moving people and machines but then once the equipment is sold we design the layout in 2D!

I used to do slide shows in powerpoint, where all the different parts came in from the edges and make a whole. :thumbright:

It does you should try it, they can fly in fast or slow from all different angles. You can even get them to spin and turn into position. :thumbright:
