Try disconnecting from the internet, physically pull the plug if you are wired to the router or switch the router off if wireless, then stop all your security programs. Firewall, Antivirus and any realtime antispyware programs that may be running. Use their own control;s to disable them or use the Task Manager to stop the process.
Look in Task Manager for any other programs that you can do without whilst burning and stop them too.

Remember to reboot when you have finished to restart all the programs and them re-connect to the router.

Could be the crap, fluff generally is a very good insulator, can add 25C to the system temperature, which can be the difference between a stable and unstable system. Make sure all the fluff is gone, especially on fans and check under add on cards.
If you put the system under load (like playing a game or running something like SETI@home) does it crash?
If so then it could be the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is on its way out.

It could be a bad sector of ram, it could be that when it gets to that sector of memory it reboots the system. try burning at a lower speed and if theres an option for it cache to hard disk rather than do everything in memory (although i think this is just for copying dvd)
