Blum Blumotion Drawers
Can anyone provide a foolproof way of removing the drawers on a Magnet kitchen which has the Blum Blumotion drawers in? I managed to get one out today (more luck than anything else) Instructions say to lift the drawer up as the runners come forward, then drop them down before lifting and removing the drawer. So frustrating today trying to remove 6 drawers and only managing one. Is there some sort of knack, I'm sadly missing?
Cheers lads

Never really had a problem, give 'em a little wiggly waggly and they're out. So you you must be missing the knack.
You might be being to soft with them, of course don't force them but you can still put a bit of pressure when unclicking them from the runners.
How far are you pulling them out before lifting up? You want to lift them up maybe 30-60mm before they are fully extended. At least I think that's about right, I kinda just do it on auto-pilot

You do have to more or less just yank them out, it seems wrong the first time you do it but it is the only way.
One day it will all be firewood.

Cheers lads. CR, I can see underneath the drawer where the section is that allows you to pull them up, but today try as I might, I couldn't get the other 5 out. Ahh well, there's always tomorrow and the council screwdriver.

The way I normally remove them is is pull the drawer all the way out fully, lift the drawer front about 15mm/20mm pulling it forward and down at the same time.

Re: Blum Blumotion Drawers
Cheers TB managed to get them all out today. Only issue I've had today was the designer had managed to place 2 wall units 840mm apart (where the extractor hood goes) and had the flying shelf over the top, to be made out of a standard 720mm clad on end panel. Just a tad short.
I even checked the plans and part numbers and the plans show the spacing at 840mm and the parts list has a 720mm panel.
Just another point. The plans have 720mm wall units used as base units on the other wall (narrowish kitchen). How do others do these? Do you get some legs and fix to the bottom or do you hang them off the wall at the correct height?
Original plans were for legs to be supplied, but Magnet have not supplied any legs for these. If all else fails I could make a small frame up out of 2" x2" timber to provide extra support for these , which will be covered by the plinth.

Re: Blum Blumotion Drawers
Use both the wall hangers and feet, as when being used as a base unit it will need to take the weight of both the worktop and anything they put on it
Get magnet to supply the feet, should give you these FOC but if not they are only couple of quid a pair

Re: Blum Blumotion Drawers
looks like you need a board stretcher
ive always done legs and plinth for the short base. you can get legs from toolstation for around £1.80 for 4 which imo is cheaper and quicker than buying 2x2 and making the frame

Re: Blum Blumotion Drawers
Thanks CR and Speed. I'll get on to Magnet in the morning and see what they have to say. TBQH, I'm not overly impressed with them. Seem to be 3 units short of what it says on the plan and what they have told the customer needed ordering. I checked the delivery off the lorry and everything that was ordered has been delivered, but checking this against the plans shows the discrepancies up. Just hope it's not another 4 weeks for delivery of 3 units.
The base unit for the B/U oven is weird. Has a drawer underneath it. I wondered what happened with the plinth, before realising the plinth has to be cut for this one unit and slides out with the drawer.

Re: Blum Blumotion Drawers
Quick update. Went to Magnet's this morning and asked about the order. After a phone call to the chap that designed the kitchen, he accepted that he'd missed off 2 x 800 units and the legs for the units. Picked up the 800 units from a Magnet warehouse (although the doors for these have been ordered today and will be fast tracked for delivery next week)
The plans also show a tall appliance unit to be used to cover a combi boiler on the wall and this also has a 600 wide x 300 high unit on top. Magnet say, although it's on the plan, it's up to me to make this out of end panels ??? Their clad on end panels are 15mm thick, whilst the carcases of all units are 18mm thick. Yeah right. Looks like getting some 18mm MFC and knocking one up.
PS, I've already checked the combi manufacturers installation to ensure clearances for enclosing the boiler)
